Corraun House is in Currane, Achill, Co. Mayo, Ireland. The house was formerly the residence of the Dickens family, the English landlords of Currane, having been built by Charles Scrase Dickens in the mid 1800's. The landlord moved out and the property was sold to the local schoolmaster in the late 1940s.

The east wing of the building houses 'The George', a small traditional friendly pub which has served the community since 1948. Sadly, The George closed in November 2006.

The gardens at Corraun House were once renowned throughout northern europe for the variety of plants, shrubs and trees, both native and imported. Two gardeners were employed and visitors came from far and wide to see the gardens and glasshouses.

Sadly, both the gardens and house have fallen into disrepair in the last 50 years. The current owners, Jane and Alistair Steger-Lewis, hope to restore the house and gardens, though it may take the rest of their lives!
